about

Wandering in sadness around the neighborhood, he only saw her, in the trees, in the wind, in the fish that played in the pond. Too late. She would've stayed. When he finally had found himself pining for her, it was too late, she was gone.

It seemed like the world itself maintained indifferent silence. How narcissistic...maybe that's what helped hasten her departure. He thinks of the poem "He Died at Dawn" by Garcia Lorca which ends

Four moons in the night
and one lonely tree.
On the point of a pin
my love spins.

He tries prayer, but it only reflects his own ego. Perhaps that means the prayer is working. It's a start but for now it keeps coming back to the revelation of the loss at hand.

lyrics

The great expanse
The final dance
I found the time
But she was gone

Fish go round and round
Jumping in the pond
Nature doesn't mind us or respond

And when we cry for mercy She laughs
We're falling off the edge of a pin

So grant me time (grant these things)
To learn the finer things to know in life
I grab surprises
To drive me on

Joy and pleasures mount in drains
You and me and all the right ways
Round and round we go

Please
Please
Please...wait
